Blossom (Mural)

Blossom is inspired by plum blossoms (méi-huā, 梅花) that are popular in Chinese painting and poetry.  The ox is paired with plum blossoms because both symbolise ‘perseverance’ in Chinese culture.  The ox looks up, as if waking from a slumber and looking forward to the new year. In 2021, how will we persevere, and ‘blossom’ with new hopes and dreams?
